I have chills and tears, and I am so thankful for your honesty. The edits of the poems were such a welcome addition. And, actually, I loved what the last stanza evoked- really. So appreciative of the edits so that I could see that and also see how it brought you to your final draft. I am, strangely, feeling a dull pulse of grief and victimhood (non derogatory) about my mom’s MS and how it’s changed our lives. This whole week like a grey sheen over life that I want to ignore, but I know I shouldn’t. And your words came right when I felt at my bubbling over point and helped me address my own pain. So thank you 💗 I love you. And the line “there are paths forward that have opened only because of this grief…” so deeply resonated with me.
Thank youuuu, that last stanza is special! I am working with it still in poem purgatory. I admire the way you live in your active love of your mom (so much more to say about this but doesn't need to live in the comments section), and I needed your mirroring here, thank you my friend.
Loving all your words and pictures, keep 'em coming <3 <3 <3
ALICE - thank you, I love you.
Thank you for this. It’s beautiful and vulnerable. It helped me stay close to myself just as I was sneaking away to a fuzzier place.
It feels good hearing it did something for you, thank you for reading!!
